Naomi (Nisha Kalema) never planned to leave — but home stopped being safe the night soldiers came for her father. A respected insider who knew too much, Naomi's father had secretly gathered evidence proving the government was staging conflicts to secure foreign aid. Before he is killed, her father  gives Naomi a hard drive and a final command: "Run!" Naomi escapes through the night as gunshots echo behind her, leaving her family, her love, and her country changed forever.

 

Months later, Naomi  reaches America — believing she has outrun danger. Instead, she finds a different struggle: immigration interviews, low-wage labor, loneliness, and survivor’s guilt. Living with Harriet (Joel Ssepuya), another exile rebuilding her life, Naomi debates what to do with the evidence. Together they try to get journalists to listen, facing rejection after rejection — until one young reporter dares to care.

 

But back home, silence must be protected. Major Toko (Patriko Mujuuka), the officer who oversaw the raid that killed her family, arrives in the U.S. with one mission: erase Naomi and the truth she carries.

 

Calm and calculating, he gets close to Naomi by pretending to be a friend. By the time Naomi realizes who he really is, it is almost too late. What follows is a final, brutal confrontation — not just between two people, but between a survivor who refuses to stay silent and a system built on burying the truth.
